We started by running one scientist's job search — by hand.

HydroRole AI is AI career intelligence for environmental and water scientists. It began with a two-week search for a newly graduated hydrology Ph.D. — a U.S. permanent resident in Boston.

Across more than 400 employers, most of the effort went into ruling roles out: expired postings, misleading dates, remote roles closed to her state, and citizenship or clearance requirements buried deep in the text. The 63 roles that survived were excellent. Finding them should not have taken that long.

So we turned the process into a pipeline. Code collects postings from official employer career sites every day; AI extracts the requirements that decide whether a role is worth applying to, always with the supporting quote.
